Today we will discuss Mohs' scale of mineral hardness.

#1 Talc is the softest: #10 diamond the hardest. Gypsum can scratch #1. Calcite can scratch #1 and #2, and so on.

As you run your expiriments, please don't lose the diamond each of you has. I have to return them to the jeweler.

Professor, Shouldn't a hammer be at number 11?

My diamond smashed when I hit it with a hammer.
